Read a split test result

What the verdict, the numbers and "how sure" mean.

Open My website → Split tests and click Results on a test.

The verdict at the top says what's happening in plain words:

  • Waiting for the first visitors. Numbers come in every hour.
  • Too early to tell. A result needs at least 100 join clicks in each group and a full week. It shows roughly how many more days.
  • B is ahead by N%, X% sure so far. Below 95%, it could still be luck. Leave it running.
  • B is winning. 95% sure or more. You can make B the default.
  • A is winning. B does worse. Stop the test to keep the site as it is.
  • No real difference. It reached its last day without a clear result, so everyone sees A again.

How sure is how likely it is that the difference is real and not luck in who happened to visit.

Below the verdict: visitors, join clicks and click rate for A and B, a daily chart (it jumps about; the totals count), and the same numbers for phones and computers.

About the numbers:

  • Each visitor is counted once and stays in their group.
  • A join click is a click through to your members site, not a sign-up.
  • You, signed in to WordPress, always see A and aren't counted.
